Pitch - Evaluation

After pitching my work, I received a lot of feedback. What seemed most important was what to do with my style. For my storyboards and early character designs I was trying to go with a simplistic style, which I feel would help me in the long run what a looming deadline in May. I was told that other works I had done in different styles stood out much more, and I have to agree. I need to experiment and find a good balance between my work standing out, but also being something that I can make before the deadline.

I also need to expand my research. I’ve had too narrow a focus, and a lot of the illustrators I have looked at are all fairly similar in their styles. I’ve been too focused on finding simple styles that I completely disregarded anything else, regardless of how much they could help my work.
